Carrier of the Dreams

Just finished watching Night in the Museum 2 : Battle of the Smithsonian. Nice entertaining movie, particularly with Amy Adams’ lively portrayal of the adventurous pilot Amelia Earhart. The major part of the movie is set in the National Air and Space Museum, Washington D.C.

This Red Lockheed Vega 5b on display at the museum is the one flown by Amelia Earhart in breaking two world records including the one for being the first woman pilot to cross the Atlantic. Another plane of the same model was used by Wiley Post to flow around the world twice, being the first pilot to do so.

The movie also shows this plane in its final sequences when it is used by Amelia to carry Lawrence Daley and his friends from Washington DC to New York.
